Which cutlery set should I buy?

The answer really depends on the size of your hands and/or fingers, believe it or not ! From many years of trying to find comfortable cutlery to suit both myself and my husband, we have found that slim rounded handles like your first choice are too small for his large hands and he regularly drops the cutlery, whereas this design suits my smaller hands perfectly. But just buying larger handles such as your second choice is not always the answer to large hands either, as if the design is completely flat, it can also dig into the sides of hands whilst eating. If this really matters to you, go to a department store where they sell individual pieces and "test" them by holding them at various angles. Then you will know which shape is most comfortable to hold.
