Can i return this watch? Please answer!?

I got a watch from Argos for Christmas. The clasp was really hard to open and the watch wasn't water proof so i had to try and open it everytime i had a shower. Unfortunately, only a week after i received it i was (again!) having trouble opening the clasp. When i finally opened it the watch dropped to the floor and the glass screen shattered. Can i bring this back? And if i cant should i buy the watch again and be more careful? I feel guilty because i haven't told my mom yet and it was a present from her. thanks
