Can you have a wedding that is a different culture than yours?

I'm not engaged but my friend and I were talking about our future weddings for fun. I said that I thought it would nice to have a Indian style wedding. I would serve Indian food and put up beautiful decorations. I would hire Indian dancers to entertain and I would learn some traditional Indian dances. My friend thought it was a nice idea but reminded me that I would have to marry someone who was Indian to do that. I also like the idea of an Asian or Latin American wedding. My ancestors all came from England and Scotland. Would it be okay to have an ethnic wedding if neither my fiancee nor I were a part of that group?
