Friend asked me to host a housewarming/bridal shower for her a YEAR after wedding?

You simply tell her you can not afford to host this house warming shower party (nonsense)....all extra monies you have are tied up in purchasing a home and baby expenses that you need to save for. If you can't afford it, you simply can't. End of story....BTW, do it in text since she couldn't bother to call you and ask personally.....so return the courtesy.
